Autologous Breast Reconstruction Following Mastectomy

چکیده
The options for breast reconstruction following mastectomy have greatly expanded. Current techniques include pedicle flaps and free tissue transfers. With the advent of perforator flaps, additional options have become available that have the advantage of reduced donor site morbidity. The purpose of this manuscript is to review the most common methods of breast reconstruction using autologous tissues. Zusammenfassung !

متن کاملAutologous Fat Grafting for Whole Breast Reconstruction
SUMMARY This is the first reported case of a patient who had a single-stage large-volume breast reconstruction with autologous fat grafting, following rotation flap approach (RoFA) mastectomy. The purpose of this case study was to evaluate the viability of reconstruction of the breast by autologous fat grafting alone, in the context of RoFA mastectomy. The hypothesis was that there would be min...
متن کاملImproved immediate breast reconstruction as a result of oncoplastic multidisciplinary meeting
INTRODUCTION The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines recommend that breast reconstruction should be available to all women undergoing mastectomy and discussed at the initial surgical consultation (2002, and updated 2009). The National Mastectomy and Breast Reconstruction Audit (2009) showed that 21% of mastectomy patients underwent immediate breast reconstruction (I...
متن کاملScarless Breast Reconstruction: Indications and Techniques for Optimizing Aesthetic Outcomes in Autologous Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction that leaves no visible scars on the breast is possible for a subset of patients. This article reviews a cohort of 10 patients who underwent 14 autologous breast reconstructions. To achieve a reconstruction without visible breast scars, the mastectomy and autologous reconstruction are carried out through a periareolar incision. At the completion of the reconstruction, a sma...
متن کاملImmediate Breast Tissue Expander-Implant Reconstruction With Inferolateral AlloDerm Hammock and Postoperative Radiation: A Preliminary Report
OBJECTIVE To preserve the mastectomy skin envelope in select patients destined to receive radiation following mastectomy, we performed immediate tissue expander-implant reconstruction with a subpectoral tissue expander and an inferolateral AlloDerm hammock for complete implant coverage. We hypothesized that the AlloDerm hammock may allow greater intraoperative volume expansion and potentially a...
